Electric Can Opener for People with Arthritis

Looking for an electric can opener for people with arthritis? As you know, just because it runs on electricity doesn’t make it user-friendly. When you have wrist pain, finger pain, swelling, and/or coordination issues you need a can opener that easily pierces the lid. You shouldn’t have to fumble and struggle with any of your kitchen appliances. Lower quality models make meal preparation extremely time-consuming and frustrating. Lining it up just right and puncturing the top sounds easy to those without problems, but getting it started is the most challenging part.

How about Battery-Operated Can Openers?

Don’t bother with battery-operated handheld can openers either. They aren’t as easy to use as some think. You’ll go through umpteen batteries too. The money spent on those batteries would pay for a quality electric can opener for people with wrist pain, hand pain, or any other issue that makes grasping and coordination difficult. Pull tabs don’t make life easier either. When you lack strength you can only get it open partway. When that happens the risk of getting cut greatly increases. That’s why it’s best to find an electric can opener that’s easy to use.

An Electric Can Opener with a Handle on Top is Much Easier to Use

It’s a Great Electric Can Opener for People with Arthritis or Other Physical Challenges –

Consider the model above when seeking a can opener for the handicapped. It’s not marketed as such, but even those who aren’t physically challenged find it easier to operate. The difference between the Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch Can Opener and others I’ve had is nothing short of phenomenal. Take a closer look and you’ll see why the design makes it easier to use.

The Handle Placement and Design Makes More Sense –

It’s no wonder why other can openers are difficult to operate. Considering the handle size and position and how the can must be lined up perfectly, even those without hand and wrist pain struggle. The can spun around between the blade and the appliance, but that’s all it did. The label would shred around the edge, but the blade didn’t cut anything. My husband had to try again and again before getting it to work, and he doesn’t have hand or wrist issues. The Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch is a good electric can opener for people with arthritis or anyone that wants one that’s easier to operate.
