How to Get Your Dog to Look at the Camera
Do you want to know how to get your dog to look at the camera? Most that run off are afraid of the flash. The light hurts their eyes. They associate the device with an irritating light. It’s like waiting for a balloon to pop. Some end up turning their head, squinting, and running away with their tail tucked in. Too many flashes cause dog selfie phobia, but it can be cured. You can train your dog to look at the camera again. First, you have to use a better technique and regain his trust. Simply pointing and shooting just doesn’t work, especially when they have a fear of the flash.
Your Dog May Be Afraid Of…
You won’t be able to convince your dog to look your way if you continue to use the flash. Start taking photos in well-lit areas, and leave the flash off. It might take days, weeks or even months to convince him that an extremely bright light won’t come on when your phone is pointed his way. You’ll have to slowly regain his trust. Take photos without the flash in an area where he won’t be able to hide or run off, but don’t point it at him. He will need to figure out that the camera is no longer associated with a bright and annoying light. Yes, your photo ops will be greatly reduced without the flash, but at least you’ll be able to take clear pictures of your dog that include his face.

Wow! This is mostly my problem when taking a photo with Angus. Itś hard to catch his attention . I wonder if I can buy this ball in Germany or in the Philippines. Thanks forr sharing Kim.
I can take their picture but when I want a pic with them is when there is a problem, called licking my face off! I am not sure there is a cure for that.
