My Shih Tzu Doesn’t Like to Get Brushed
I have to call the groomer because my shih-tzu doesn’t like to get brushed. When I try he runs away the second I take my hand off his back. He hides under one of the end tables, and at that point I give up. If I were to try and pull him out he would probably snap my hand. I’m not rough with him, and I don’t understand why my dog hates getting brushed. He never liked baths either and even cried while bathing when he was a puppy. I’ve had to resort to showering with my dog. It’s the only way to get it done without having to struggle. Water ends up all over the bathroom and I end up needing a shower anyway.
Some Won’t Sit Still for Mom and Dad
I wondered how anyone could groom my dog. After all, if he wouldn’t allow me to brush him how could anyone else do anything? After taking him to PetsMart, I hid around a pallet of dog food to watch. I was worried that he would cause a struggle. He sat perfectly still for the groomer! He even tilted his chin up like a show dog! I wondered if it wasn’t him, but it was. How could this be? The groomer said that doggies are more likely to cooperate with a stranger than with mom or dad. I was proud of his good behavior. If only he would sit still for me!

Grooming Your Dog Saves a Ton of Money
I really need a kit for grooming a Shih Tzu, but that wasn’t wall. My dog isn’t cooperative, at least not with me. He sits still for the groomer, but with me he fights and struggles. That’s because he isn’t on his best behavior when I’m the one in charge.
What I needed was an Adjustable Grooming Arm with a Clamp and a Lead to keep him still. I’m not positive that it would work, but it’s certainly worth a try since Petsmart charges a small fortune. With the right grooming furniture and tools maybe he would cooperate like he does for others.
My Shih Tzu doesn’t like to get brushed, but between the vet bills and the groomer it’s expensive to have a dog. If you can’t afford professional grooming every other month you have no choice but to do it yourself. Shih Tzus become terribly matted when they aren’t regularly brushed. With help from an extra pair of hands you could do it yourself. You may have to start out using a muzzle if he doesn’t cooperate, but the dog grooming kit and table arm that I posted above doesn’t cost much more than a couple of trips to a groomer.
Oh my! Your pet is so cute. I brush and cut the hair of my dog Angus but I can´t cut his nails and so I bring him to the vet for that.
